- The Washington Literacy Center (WLC), founded in 1963, is one of the oldest adult literacy programs in the District. We serve adults who have the most limited reading skills, fewest job resources and greatest employment needs in the District of Columbia.

Tour of Our New Center – June 4

An Evening for Literacy – June 11
This event will be held at Morton’s Steakhouse, featuring honorary hosts former Congressman Michael Oxley and former Senator Byron Dorgan. The reception starts at 6 p.m. Hor d’ oeuvres and wine will be served. Donations start at $50.
Happy Hour on Capitol Hill – June 18
Join fellow supporters and donors for happy at Sonoma Restaurant and Wine Bar on Capitol Hill. Drinks will be discounted. Donations start at $10 and will be collected at the door. We hope to see you there!
